Joanne, cant see how it could help you unless you have a relative you want to check out is actually the same line as you.

The DNA tests offered seem to give a general "came from East Europe" sort of answer - no help to genealogists at the moment. Certainly no way its going to help list your family tree members backwards.

I wonder where one would get the necessary samples for matching.......................other than by exhuming bodies

Hi Joanne, check out this link:

I think that you'll get more value for your money researching BMD records and census transcripts.

I started my tree several months ago and at times, have found it sooo difficult and didn't think it could get any harder, but I've recently been contacted by someone regarding DNA family research. Has anyone looked into this or possibly had this done, is it worth it, what is it actually going to tell me??? or is this something to look into further down my line as I'm only back to the 1700's.

I have briefly looked into it and can't make head nor tail of it!!!
