Glen In Tinsel Knickers

Glen In Tinsel Knickers Report 6 Aug 2008 22:48

Of course the 1921 marriage could be a 2nd marriage,

the Arnold/Ayling marriage seems to have only one birth recorded (Q1 1915).

It's a case of trying to tie up a marriage for C Arnold to an Emily, that will help include/exclude the CWGC entry.

Thanks Glen, that looks the best lead I've had, I'm off to check it out.
Thanks again.

Hi Glen,
I had seen the marriage in 1912 to Florence Ayling but when I check her on the census she was living next door to a Christopher Arnold who is from another family and I thought it more likely she married him and not my Christopher. I hadn't seen the other one to Scott in 1921 but since this would have made him 41 yrs old think this a little unlikely.

He could easily be any one of these or none of them, there might be some missing entries in the list as these are just from freebmd and not the full index.

Firstly, thank you everyone for your input.
The Christopher Wm. London C 1c 1 looks a good possibility but can anyone see anything for him after the 1901 Census i.e. marriage or death, if not have you any ideas where I should try next please.

he would have missed the 1881 census then mum was probably pregnant with him at the time If he came out of the Army on a pension then his Army records will be at Kew But you would need to get them from there as they wont be online on their website. i got paternal grandfather & his elder brothers Army records form Kew .they joined up in the 1890,s and came out in the pre 1910 era Grandfather didn't show on the 1901 cos he was in the Boar war .He came out on a pension in 1904 and his brother in 1905.
To date i still haven't seen their records available online on National Archives site

I think St Olaves can be discounted but like Glen I reckon the London one is a good bet.

I am trying to find Christopher Arnold c1881 born Bishopsgate. I have been unable to find his registration of birth, marriage, death or any military records. He is listed on both 1891 and 1901 Census. His parents were Charles and Amelia and siblings Joseph C c1874, John 1876, Charles S 1878, Benjamin c1884, Annie 1885, Thomas c1888 and Rose Emily c1891.

Can anyone tell me where to try next please?
