Can anyone explain the following please

When I try to search a record Birth/Marriage/Death on both FreeBMD and LDS websites I almost always get the reply "No Records". I was suspicious of this and fed the info in using the information from certificates I already have (therefore I know they are correct) and still I get the same feedback of "No Records".

Does anyone know why this is happening.

Thanks

Linda

What sort of dates are you searching for

Perhaps the names are mistranscribed.
If the bmds are after about 1927and you are looking on freebmds then realise they are not complete.
Give us the names, dates, areas and we will take a look

FreeBMD only goes up to, at best, around 1930 at the moment - but there are gaps too before this.

Hi Linda

You're just not looking in the right place - you need to search the complete indexes for 1837 -1983

Here is the one in 1973 - it's there ok.

Frederick G A Frankie to Smith 1973 Q2 Greenwich ref: 5b 1075

hi. its because not all records have been transcribed. sometimes if you look again in a couple of months you may find what you are after.

the marriges you are looking for are too late for Freebmd and IGI .Freebmd is transcribing around the 1920,s at the mo ,and IGI has never covered the dates you are looking for they have mostly parish records
