FreeBMD in to the 1970's?

I think its where people have done one-name studies, etc and extracted all entries of a particular surname right up to 1983 and then submitted them to FreeBMD.

You can check out the total number of entries in freeBMD per quarter here: http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/EntryCounts.pl . From that you will see that after 1929, the number of records per quarter is in the hundreds rather than hundred-thousands. Still, you might just get lucky!

Selena.....Thanks for alerting us to that....I like many others thought they petered out around 1930.

There are a number of comparatively recent records on there........I noticed some 1950's births today when I was searching...........

And the death of one of my relations in 1956 has been on freebmd for a few months.........

I accidently found a marriage on FreeBMD for 1979. When I played a bit more I found births for 1961 onwards.
Obviously the records are sketchy but I never knew that FreeBMD had started to cover this much!
