With your advice I have decided not to send a Gedcom and just add a few key individuals.

You can privatise the gedcom before you create it which will keep out any details of living persons. Or you can create a gedcom of just those persons you wish to.

Yes if you upload a new Gedcom to GR it will replace everything in your current GR tree with the new data. Therefore, all the facts etc in your FTM tree will re-appear on your GR tree.

I think it will overwrite your existing gr tree,you will lose it.
Be warned,downloading to gr will almost certainly prevent you from editing.

I have recently got FTM and keep all my detailed records on there and have deleted facts down to just the basics on my genesreunited tree. I have now got a lot more people on FTM. If I transfer a Gedcom file back will it re-install all the personal information on my GR tree ?
