where do i start (want to find adopted brother)

You should search the birth index in the names your mother was using at that time and order your brother's original birth certificate. If he was adopted it should be amended and the word "Adopted' written in one of the columns.

Hi Paul

Do you not have his year of birth or name ? you should try contacting Staffs SS and asking then if they can tell you which adoption agency was used.
Then contact the adoption agency and see if they will help you, in the meantime make sure you have your Mothers details in your tree in case he joins this site and gets a hot match,

Another way is to go to the GRO web site and follow instructions about 'Adoption'

Also (just in case he is on any other members tree) Put his name in the 'Quick search' at the top of this page....

You can then contact the tree owner direct.

Hi can some one please tell me where do I start to find a brother that was adopted at birth only have my mothers details and that he is older than myself apart from she was in the staffordshire area at time of adoption can any one please help lyn
