CATFORD, LONDON

On the 1901 census there are 91 people born in 1901 (i.e. were less than a year old) whose place of birth is given as Catford and are living in Lewisham registration district. Assuming that they hadn't all moved between being born and the census day(!), it certainly seems that Catford is in Lewisham RD - or at least it was in 1901.

Who?

When?

The GRO index identifies the Registration district............each of which covers several places.

You need to find out which district included Catord at the time in which you are looking for info

I work in Catford, its in the borough of Lewisham.

Catford would have once been in Kent, before it became part of greater London.

Lewisham is the nearest registration that I can find on Genuki, but I can't find Catford mentioned anywhere.
