I have just spent the afternoon trawling through the Humber District of Hull trying to find 5 Finkle Street. I was able as Maureen pointed out to find 22 Finkle Street but it appears there is no 5.
I am at my witts end as years ago approx 20 before the comp age I had some handwritten notes and have written my great grandfather and mother living at 5 Finkle Street 'Beerhouse' I found this on the 1851 census.
According to the computer they are living in Hanover Square so I do not know where I found the original information. My great greandparents were Francis and Mary Gardiner although on the comp Francis is named as Frances.
I thought by finding 5 Finkle Street it would solve the mystery but no it has not as there is no 5 on the comp.
One of life's little myteries.
Thanks once again for all your help. If anyone knows of how I could clarify this I would be so happy.

Hello everyone,

A while ago I asked if anyone knew how to search an address on the 1851 census. Someone kindly gave me a name of someone living in the street I needed. Unfortunately I have changed my comp and lost the reply.
I am looking for Finkle Street, Hull, Yorkshire. The name someone gave me (I think was ? Tew) Can anyone help please?
Regards Linda
