Hi Keith, thanks. I have already tried these avenues but have not found any record. Seems I have hit a brick wall. Thelma

If they married in England, they should be on the normal BMD marriage index. If that was the case, you will have to check each quarter image, year by year on the complete index as FreeBMD is not complete until then. Findmypast has Army marriage index from 1881 to 1955.

Help in where to find records of Service Personnel Married abroad post WW2.

Cannot trace marriage certificate of Aunt and Uncle who were married in 1951 whilst he was still a serving Soldier in the British Army. Believe they were resident in this country (England) when they married. They never had children and both are now deceased. The Aunt came to this country from Hungary. I do not know if she came before she met her husband or whether she came in order to marry him or if they were married before they both came to England. Any tips on how I trace any permit for her to live here or on finding the marriage record would be much appreciated.
