Hi Lorna,

You can find some Scottish and Irish BMD's on Family Search and you can also ask for a lookup of Scottish census from anyone on the boards who have Ancesty.
However apart from Scotlands People there isn't really any other place to search later Scottish records.
You can also check this link for Irish census

Hiya,

i'm loving the free BMD index facility on
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/,

but now need to find similar info/ indexes on scottish and northern irish relatives- and I don't want to pay right now as I'm skint! Any ideas? I know that scotland's people is a pay per view, but are there any free sites that anyone knows of that are as easy to use as the freebmd site?

I also wondered if anyone had any magic records for Northern irish censuses and bmd- I know that lots were lost in the 1922 fire, but I thought I would ask just in case...?

I'm so impressed about how helpful this tips message board is. Its nice to meet such helpful, selfless people. I promise to repay the karma by helping others where I can!

Many thanks :)
