I have been looking at the 1901 Census for Sarah Pridmore born abt 1878 living in Islington and married to Frederick. I would appreciate an opinion in deciphering her place of birth please.

Many thanks
Sue

Is her maiden name Thomas

Yes her maiden name was Thomas (at least thats who I'm hoping she is) Do you know if Hanwell is in or near Islington

If she is who I think, she only married in 1895 so wouldn't be on previous census with her married name

I have opened it earlier this evening but can't make out what it says

Do you have 1 of the childrens B/C for her maiden name..then you'll know if the marriage if the correct one

No Hanwell isn't near Islington, but i have had family come in from Bucks & marry in London

Thanks Julie - no I haven't got any certs as she is only a sibling of my grandfather and I was trying to sort out some loose ends. Her birth was reg in Islington along with most of her brothers and sisters

Sue

Just check to see where Frederick was born and though the 1901 says Camberwell his birth was registered in Kensington

So don't forget head of house gave all the details so maybe he was unsure.

What was their parents name, as it might be worth to go back and come forward again

I will try that Julie - otherwise I will just be patient an wait for 1911 to be available.

Thanks to you all for your replies

I do have her on earlier census and know who her parents are. I just wanted to check if she was the Sarah I was looking for but as she is only grandfathers sister I can't afford to start buying certs for all of them.
I will have to leave it for the time being as hubby is pestering me to get on the computer now.

Thanks for your help Reg
