Found this in BVRI couldn' find any other children

Claire, thanks for that but I don't think it is him, his Father is definately jeremiah.

Cannot find him on the 1841, or 1851 census. Have found marriage for Jeremiah and sarah wagstaff, and jeremiah and hannah hill.
On 1861 it states he was born in west brom staffs, 1871 he was born in stourbridge worcs, 1881 he was born in manchester lancs

You need to be looking for a baptism in the parish records if he isn't on the IGI but as you don't know where he was born, it could be quite difficult!

Is he not with his mother on the 1841 census? Have you looked for a marriage between Jeremiah Firkins and a Hannah / Sarah?

Have never been able to find a definate birth for my rellie Joseph Firkins brn abt 1833 in either Stafford or Worcester, his father being a waterman. I now have Josephs wedding cert, his father is confirmed as Jeremiah and he got married at Handsworth Staffs in 1855 with John and sarah Firkins as witness's, but the prob I have is; as I have never been able to find Josephs birth how do I find his mother. At present I have two "contenders" Hannah and Sarah.
