Hi Jan I found someone who might be Margaret on the 1841 (premarriage I know but sometimes that helps id them later) . They rounded ages on the 1841 so she could be older or younger.

I am lucky enough to be able to get to the local Record Office and came across the marriage whilst searching through for another Vaughan link.

As her Dad Ulich has such an unusual name, she must be 'one of mine'.

I've tried all sorts of combinations for the surname but nothing comes up.

Perhaps as you say, they went abroad in the Services.

I'll put it on a back burner for now

Thanks

Can't see anything for them. Do you think he could have been in one of the Services? Any clues from the witnesses to the marriage? How did you manage to get back to the marriage if you could not find them on any census returns? Sorry, I'm asking more questions then you but trying to find a lead.

Yes, I've got the marriage cert.
Fathers William McGibbon a farmer and Ulick Vaughan a seaman

Assume you have the marriage certificate. Any names for their fathers?

Does anybody fancy a challenge?

I've got a Robert McGibbon who marries Margaret Vaughan Nov 1855 in Gosport. Hants. Both were of full age and I think she was born in Ireland.

From there, they vanish.

Can anybody see them?

Many thanks

Jan
