Hi could anyone tell me if there is a way of finding out if someone went to south africa in around 1896 ? this is the info i have on him but just need to find more detail and to see if what i have been given is in fact true .
Henry George Cole born 20/05/1883 birth place Islington London
At the age of 13 he was sent to South Africa to live with his uncle. He started work there as an apprentice on the railways. As a Territorial army soldier in the Durban Light Infantry, he won a silver medal during the Zulu rebellion at Natal in 1906 . any help would be great
Thanks Alyson

The UK passenger lists on Findmypast are 1890 - 1960, so he wont be found on these records.
