When a child is born they are registered in their birth name.
When a child's adoption is complete they are then listed in the Adopted Children Register in their adoptive name... you will find your Linda there.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Gerry

I am very new here...! Please can someone tell me how you record adopted children? Do you put them under their biological or adoptive parents and what is the symbol?
Linda Button (adopted name) was born on 15th Jan 1946 in Luton and I can't find anything about her but also not sure if I am looking in the right place? Are babies registered under their biological mother name? Any advise greatly appreciated. Thanks.
