thanks again lfw
on the 1901 census my nana is registered as a munster on it aged 1, but i cannot find a susannah munster or married name jackson i can only find dixon,
the thomas munster death you found could well be my dad's grandfather,
as for the robert munster and margaret cooke they are definetly family as i too found that one ,
robert was susanah's (the daughter) brother born 1902 as i have confirmed this with his daughters,

crikey mind boggling stuff this is

Hi BjB

Sorry the marriage I posted was just to show that their was a Jackson/Dixon marriage which could be the parents of Thomasina born 1926. It was just a coincidence (I think) that he was also a Harold.

Regards
LfW

So her parents may not have married until after Susannah' birth:

Births Mar 1900 (>99%)
Munster Susannah Newcastle T. 10b 16

Marriages Mar 1902 (>99%)
Addison Clara Rosanna Newcastle T. 10b 242
Dixon Susannah Newcastle T. 10b 242
Hind Arthur Edward Newcastle T. 10b 242
Munster Thomas Newcastle T. 10b 242

I wonder if this is his fathers death, could it be significant with the marriage being shortly after!:

Deaths Jun 1901 (>99%)
Munster Thomas 59 Newcastle T. 10b 69

I can't find a birth for Thomas, wonder if he was registered Dixon, their are several possibles.

I've looked for a marriage for Susannah Munster to a Jackson 1918 -28 and can't see one. Do you know when they married? The only one I could see in Newcastle is Robert Munster 1922 to Margaret Cook.

Harolds birth?

Births Jun 1928 (97%)
Jackson Harold Munster Newcastle T. 10b 181

This is another possible marriage:

Marriages Dec 1925 (>99%)
Dixon Susan Jackson Newcastle T. 10b 160
Jackson Harold Dixon Newcastle T. 10b 160

And possibly their child:

Births Sep 1926 (>99%)
Jackson Thomasina Dixon Newcastle T.. 10b 56

I think it's just a coincidence that they had a child called Thomasina. If you search for Jackson Dixon marriages their are several in Newcastle area at the time. Have you found the Jackson Munster marriage? These records may not have been transcribed yet so you would need to view the complete index quarter by quarter.

This is the reference for Thomasina's birth:-

Name: Thomasina Jackson
Year of Registration: 1926
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Mother's Maiden Name: Dixon
District: Newcastle Upon Tyne
County: Northumberland, Tyne and Wear
Volume: 10b
Page: 56

You really need to get the birth certificate to see who is down as her parents, and who registered the birth. It could be something as simple as the registrar asking "What is mother's maiden name?" and Susannah thinking he meant what is YOUR mother's maiden name and not what is the baby's mother's maiden name.

This is the reference for your great grandmother's marriage:-

Name: Susannah Dixon
Year of Registration: 1902
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
District: Newcastle Upon Tyne
County: Northumberland, Tyne and Wear
Volume: 10b
Page: 242

Also on the page is Thomas Munster.

I can't find a marriage for Susannah Munster to Harold Jackson.

Hi BjB

Do you have the birth certs? Who registered the births?

Why don't you post the info you have and we'll see what we can find for you :-)

Have you looked for another marriage for the other mmn, just in case their were two couples.

hi all i'm pretty new at posting here, posted a query on the chat and was advised to ask on tips board so here goes

i wonder if anyone can shed some light on this please i have been searching for details on my dad's side of family i am starting with his oldest sibling and working down to youngest the oldest was a female and on the mothers maiden name part it has her grandmothers maiden name not her mothers and also on the 3rd sibling which again is a female it has the same for her, but the male siblings have their mothers maiden name not the grandmother. i am confused was this a normal thing to do with the females of families, i'm not talking about 100's of years ago i'm talking 1920's -1930's

i am pretty sure i have the correct info as dates/names and areas seem to add up
