Oscar Kitching was my grandfathers brother. I don't know a lot about him as he apparently fell out with his brother. He did serve in the Durham Light Infantry and there is quite a bit of info about his discharge. His father was William Headlam Kitching who left the whole family to go to America. This is where I am at now and have had no luck in finding him. Apparently Oscar saw his fathers grave and wether this was true or not it was in California.
I do have info on Oscars family history which you are welcome to.

No other information on the original record. However, there is another Norma born in England c1921, parents names were Sidney and Vera. Don't know if this is your Norma or not:

There were two Oscar Kitchings in Ontario, Canada. One was born in 1902.

I don't know if this is your Oscar, or the one born in 1902...

There's a bit more than that, but it doesn't show their children.

Unfortunately, it was posted in 2003, so you may not reach the person who posted.

411 has two Kitchings living in Windsor, Ontario. It might be worthwhile contacting them:
http://www.411.com/

Someone else is researching the Kitchings, will send that site address by pm. Good news is they updated their site this year, so you should be able to contact them.

Also:

" Full text of "Vernon's city of Windsor, Ojibway, Sandwich, Walkerville, Ford and Riverside street, alphabetical, business and miscellaneous directory 1922-1923" "
Oscar Kitching is listed twice.

Ooh the plot thickens.
Thanks for the info guys. Now I was told about Clifford Kitching and then I did a search on FreeBMD for a Kitching with mother's name as Naden and that brought up both Clifford and a Norma.

It seems a bit of a coincidence to have all those names travelling together twice though. I don't know if Kitching is a popular name or not. I'm wondering though if the family went over in 1920 and then some of them came back for a visit and were returning back to Canada in 1922?
At least I've got some dates to work with anyway and another child, Dorothy, to hunt down!!

thanks

Sam

I'm looking for any details of an Oscar Kitching and Georgina Naden. They got married in Yorkshire in 1916 and had possibly two children, Clifford b1917 and Norma b1921.
I've been told they emigrated to Canada but dont know when or where. Both the children were born in Yorkshire so it must've been after 1921.

Has anyone got any details on them? I've only got UK membership on Ancestry so cant check any Canadian records.

thanks

Sam
