I have the 1891 census for Hannah Berry the head of the household, 48 years old, widow and a housekeeper. Living with her are her son, Thomas Nuttall, 21 years,a coal miner. Her daughter Angelina Berry, 14 years, a cotton weaver. Her sons Charles E. Berry, 11 years, a schoolboy, and Harry Berry, 9 years, a scholar. And her youngest daughter Alice Berry, 5 years, a scholar.
In marriages 1896, Angelina Berry used her older brother's surname Nuttall so she could get married.She married a man called John Bolan. She gave false details saying she was 21 when she was 19yrs. She also used the next door neighbours address as her own.
In the 1901 census I have Hannah Berry head of the household,58years old. She lives with her married daughter Angelina Bolan, 24years old, a card loom worker.Her sons Charlie Edward Nuttall, 20 years, a coal miner, Harry Berry, 19yrs and a cotton ? Her daughter Alice Hannah Berry, 15yrs and a cotton workr. Her grandson William Berry Bolan, 5 months old. also a cousin William Laycock, 70yrs. I have no records before 1891 and don't know much else except that on 15th April,1886 Alice Hannah Berry d.o.b. 22/03/1886, Harry Berry d.o.b. 01/02/1882, and Charles Edward Berry d.o.b. 09/06/1879, were all baptised at St.John The Baptist, Gannow. The parents names given were Henry and Hannah Berry. They lived on Griffin Street when the baptism took place.
If anyone knows of anything that may help me move further forward I would be most grateful.
