As advised above, it will have been reported in the local paper. they are on film in the nearest large library which has a family history section. Google for the library service in the nearest town. The date of the inquest should be on the death certificate, the certificate would have been issued with the coroner as the informant, rather than the usual relative. If you can't go yourself, they usually offer a look up service which doesn't cost much. Very few coroners reports survive, it is worth contacting the nearest records office just in case

Well, have been looking for a coroners inquest in about 1827. I was tol then, that most of the reports have been permanently filed in the bin and that not many reports are available. Although if you know the date of the incident, then sometimes they appear in the local paper and it can tell you lots of interesting information. So don't give out hope, but do expect alot of trawling though newspapers. Good luck

My cousin in Canada has asked me if coroners inquests are public record here as they are out there. She has discovered that there was an inquest into the death of our great great grandmother (Sarah Wright c1827) on 4 November 1899. Could anyone help please?
Many thanks
Sue
