You will need there names/year if know or apporiximate year of marriage/area

If you think it is after 1927 then you will have to see if someone on the boards will do a look up for you as it will not be available on free bmd if it is before 1927 cut and paste this link and put in the info you have.

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/

Put as much info on it as you can to make the person who is doing the search easier. It is best not to put "living" people on your message

I would suggest you place the message on the Trying to Find Board with a title of marriage look up or something on that line.

If you are aware of any sisters or brothers of your nan and grandad this might also be a help to find them.

i have tried the quick search facility with no luck,

i dont know whether or not my grand parents married

how do i find reference numbers?

thanks for your help

If you know your grandparents you could start by finding out the reference number and order their marriage cert this will give you their parents names.

To look at anything in the way of census returns you would have to get back to the 1901 census.

Have you also tried the quick search facility at the top of this page?

Hope this helps

As this is quite recent I am afraid I am unable to help and the only site I can think of that MAY have details would be Scotlands People - you do have to buy credits to view.

What are you actually trying to find out do you want to go backwards??

my mother is:ann-marie byers d.o.b 30.04.63 married into king around 1979.
had a daughter named marie-ann king
that relationship failed.
