Hello, I’m not sure how to find out further info about my g.g.grandmother Sophia Sibley who was born in Antwerp, Belgium,1819.

The name does not sound Belgian - perhaps her parents were English & happened to live in Belgium.

Sophia married Robert Leader (b. 1817)(but can’t find marriage reg.) and they lived in Stepney, East London. Went on to have 3 children: Robert, Frances (my g.grandmother) & Jesse Leader.

I have Frances' birth cert. so I know that Sophia's maiden name was Sibley.

I have found Sophia & Robert listed on 1841 & 1851 Census but thereafter they disappear & can’t find death registrations for either.

I would love to find out the parents of Sophia Sibley, and whether they were actually Belgian or not, also if she had any siblings.

Any advice welcome!
