The story I am told is that my grandchildrens paternal gtgt grandmother came over from Russia as an orphan and was in a Catholic Childrens Home in Manchester and adopted by the Woodford family of Manchester about 1887.We have no idea what her real name was. On her marriage certificate her father`s name is just given as ------ Woodford, occupation not known.
I have been unable to find her on the 1891/1901 census.
