It is possible that the birth wasn't registered ( my mother's, in 1906, wasn't) or it could have been missed from the index.

Your grandmother may have been illegitimate. Have you checked under her mother's maiden name. I found my grandmother's registration under her mother's maiden name. Its worth trying.

Its unlikely it wasnt registered. You may not be casting a wide enough net.

Have you got her marriage certificate? You should buy that for her fathers name and occupation and her place of residence.

How have you decided 1903 is the year of her birth?

It would seem my Grandmothers birth wasn't recorded. No records to be found. I only have a date of 1903 to go on. Can someone tell me how I go about finding when and where she was born?
Incase it may not have been in England, how do I start going about looking abroad?
