Electoral Rolls

They are not name indexed unfortunately, they are listed in area / street order so you would ideally need an address. Otherwise it could mean looking through the whole of Liverpool for the people you want.

They are not available online either, you need to visit the main library or Records Office for the area concerned.

Can anyone tell me what information is required to find names in the Electoral Rolls of the 1920/40 period? I don't have any addresses for instance ( unless I gave those on some of the wedding certificates I have ) Would just names do? I thought maybe if I gave 2 to 4 likely names for one household, it might narrow things down. This would be for Liverpool ( I live 200mls from there). I was given to understand that only information for recent 'Polls' were available on the net?? I certainly can't find any older ones. Thanks very much.
