I was 'with' you.......

Does the other John Mann born at that time feature in census?
Unless his parents had the same forenames, you should be OK

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain this very well.

traced back to census 1891 and the head of the house John Mann born Bradford Lived Liverpool
I know for sure the son John P Mann is a relative and that his father was John a Ship Steward. The next thing would be to get a marriage for the parents but they didn't get married.
That is why I had to trace all the John Mann's born 1851 Bradford there were two listed. one born early June one born Aug and as he died 22nd June age 43
assumed it must be the one born Aug as he would be 43 when he died but be 44 in August.
Are you still with me or have you lost the will to live?
So I have a birth certificate and a death certificate
need to find his date of birth to confirm I have the right John. otherwise may be tracing the wrong family.

Thanks
Jacky

If you follow the lives of the 2 people with the same name through each census, you should be able to see whether or not the certificate is for the correct person, unless by some fluke the other parents had the same first names.

I found actual birth dates on Parish Registers (online) for baptisms. These were in Pickhill and were very comprehensive.

I am no expert but Parish Registers really helped me.

I'm a bit confused, so you already have the birth certificate? I'm not sure what else you could use to confirm the date on it is correct!

Does anybody know of a way I can confirm a date of birth?
I have traced backwards from birth marriage & death certificates
to a birth 1851 Bradford. narrowed that down to 2 normally would
be able to double check through his marriage certificate but the
couple lived as man and wife but never married.
I know the date he died I have his death certificate age 43 on 22nd June 1895 He was burried 25th June 1895 West Derby Cemetery
Liverpool.
I would love to confirm the actual date of his birth to double check
the birth certificate I bought, is an fact for the right person.

Also I wonder if there is a grave stone still standing after all this time.

Any Idea's welcome
