Thank You all so much,
I will try to follow any of the leads you've all offered.
My GG Grandparents, Adolf Pressler and an unknown Lady, brought their family over, to Lancshire area, around Chorley, which is where their daughter married an English man, so hence the start of my family.
Once again thanks
Sam

Hi Samantha

I was in WH Smiths today, one of the family tree magazines has an article about tracing German ancestors in this month, I didn't look at it but maybe it'll be useful.

Where are you starting ? From someone in England who migrated here and what info do you have ?

Many German records are NOT centrlised so knowing the State or province/region (as it was not unified until late in the 1800s) helps....

Hey,
I want to try and find my ancestors from Germany, with the surname Pressler, only problem is i dont know how to get acess to any documents or records. The differance in language isnt a problem as i speak German, but its just getting hold of the Records, for dates, place, names ect.
If anybody knows of any ways to obtain this information would you please drop me a line, would be really helpful,
thanks
Sam
