Just received my final certificate out of five ordered within the last two weeks, (one was not mine).

I have cause of death as

Decay of Nature
(One Month)
No Medical Attendant

Does anyone know what this would mean, does it mean she was found dead after one month. Her husband was still alive, although I am sure that his death was registered the same quarter, but I havent checked that out yet. Informant is son in law, says present at death. Occupation says widow of, then widow crossed out and replaced with wife of ....

Just had a thought, wonder if son in law found them both dead after a months

Just found this too:

Uncertified deaths are pretty rare today - but the sort of situation in which you would have an uncertified death would be where a person died at home at the weekend - they had only been treated by the one doctor from their surgery and that doctor went on holiday for a fortnight starting that weekend. In that case there is no other doctor who can legally sign a certificate. The coroner would then be notified - but if he decides after looking into the matter that there is no need for a post mortem then you would have an uncertified death

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks

It would now be of Natural Causes,,,

She was just dying with no medical symptoms, possibly old age?? over a period of time,,,,, worded **,Decay** was most used ,,

Her son in law was present at the death so she wasnt found dead,,,,,

Perhaps a doctor had been called, when she first fell ill or went into decline a month before her death,,and hed been seeing her over the time of a month, she could have died in her sleep?

As Kay has suggested, it is the time that the person has been suffering the symptoms for.
Decay of nature is just old age
