Thanks for your help, it was probably when I subscribed to Ancestry.
Freebmd was the one I was looking on which is probably why the maiden names were not on.

Thanks once again, it was nice to have such quick replies.

The index displays the maiden name from 1911 onwards.

Ancestry have scanned images of the index, freebmd have scans available (you have to select the record first, then decide if you want to view the scan of the index they used for the transcription). Freebmd only covers 1837 to around the 1920 period at present.

I have recently gone back to my family tree after more than 2 years and have found half siblings of my father's whose family I am trying to look at coming forwards.
I remember accessing a site but can't remember what it was, it was a register that displayed what appeared to be scanned type written pages which included mother's maiden name. As this would help me greatly in finding offspring of my dad's half sister I would like to check these files again but try as I might I can't remember what it was. I have looked on my local BMD but that does not have many maiden names displayed for the mothers so it probably wasn't that.
Does anybody have any idea what website I might have been accessing, it was in March 06.
Any help would be much appreciated as I found it really helpful last time.
