What other information would you need?

He had 8 children with Mary Wadley between 1858 - 1871, if he had been married before and had children previously thats good going!!

I suspect John has been married twice, he is rather old to have oldest child 3 in 1861, and him aged 39. But I can't find a reasonable sighting in 1851 without some more information, if you have it.

Would anyone be kind enough to look up John Emmett born circa 1823 in Surrey on the above censuss for me?

I have found him on later census.....

In 1861 he is aged 39 living with his wife Mary in 58 Crown Street, St Margarets with 2 children. Job is coal porter

In 1871 he is aged 48 still with Mary and now 7 children
