Railway Archives

Hello
Please can anyone tell me if there are any searchable Railway Archives for employees in the 18th century. I have a g.g.grandfather who was an engine fitter on the Railway. He lived in Norfolk. I have a death certificate which I think is his, but as he lived in Norwich and died in Great Yarmouth whilst in lodgings I cannot be sure. If I could tie his death in with the fact he was working on the Railway at the time it would confirm my findings.
