Find your record on the IGI, and click on the source # (0989743 or whatever), then drill down thru the links until a "view film notes" button appears at the top right - click on this, and see:

Catholic Church. Parish of Boyle (Roscommon) (Main Author)

Baptisms, 1793-1796, 1803-1806, 1811, 1814-1827; marriages, 1792-1797, 1803-1804, 1808-1827; baptisms, 1827-1848; marriages, 1828-1848, 1848-1864; deaths, 1848-1864; baptisms, 1848-1864. FHL BRITISH Film 989743 Items 1 - 3

Baptisms, 1864-1879; marriages, 1864-1881. FHL BRITISH Film 989744 Items 1 - 2

Depending on your dates of interest, this is the film # you need to rent.

There is an example of a Scottish OPR marr entry at:

There's a link at left to an OPR baptism, too. I must say they're considerably more legible than any in my tree.

Follow this link and it tells you what you can see in the parish registers at different times.

Ireland might be different of course

If you order the microfilm of that particular parish through your local LDS centre you get to see the original parish records. Often there is extra info on them.

l wonder if anyone could tell me if l viewed a record that is on familysearch i.g.i. at my local L.D.S. centre what would l see?

Would there be any more information than what is already on the i.g.i.

The record in question is a Irish marriage
