Hi all

Good news, got the cert this morning, fantastic service from my point of view, even got a confirmation email to say it was being sent and they have not asked for the other one back!

It happened to me a few weeks ago when GRO were having their long delays. I had to wait longer for the replacement than I did for the wrong certificate - I was not impressed. Having phoned them up several times, they eventually agreed to send it out as a priority order at no extra charge!!

Oh Yes, but they didn't send my any envelope. I ordered the correct cert of my great uncle, and when it arrived it had the wrong district typed in. I emailed them and they said send it back. I did. I got a second copy with the same error. I emailed them and they said send it back. I did. I heard nothing so I rang, and a very helpful lady told me to send it back and she would issue the correct one. A couple of days later the correct one arrived. A couple of days later a second correct one arrived, and a couple of days after that I was refunded my £7.

So persevere if you get a wrong certificate and it is not your fault!

It happened to me just once a few years ago. They actually sent me the right certificate but there was an extra one in the envelope as well. Some poor person was probably waiting with baited breath for it to fall through the letterbox.

I received the wrong marriage certificate from the GRO today and on ringing them, I was told they would send me an envelope to send it back in and then resend the one I ordered. Has this happened to anyone else?
