I have copy of a baptism, there are two dates on it.
9th Sept 1891 i was told this was the date of birth.
27th Dec 1891 the date of baptism.

But the birth certificate is for the 10th Dec 1891.
so why would Sept date be on baptism entry.
.
Any help would be appreciated.
thank you Eileen

Perhaps they were late in registering the birth or forgot!! so they made the dob 10th Dec to avoid being fined for late registration

Shirley, I didnĀ“t know they got fined. Do you know more about that? Like how long did they have to register and how much were they fined?

you had ,and still have 42 days from the date of birth to register it.Late registration would incur a fine but dont know how much!!
