Any ideas how i could go about researching a family story.
My grandfather always said that his grandfather came from suffolk to london, because he killed a man, now through contact with a distant relative, who was told that my gt grandfather was a bare knuckle fighter it has fired up my interest again. I have been to Suffolk and looked through some newspapers but couldn't find anything, I would be really grateful for any tips or ideas to try.
thanks in advance yvette

Have you looked to see if your gtgtgrandfather's name is in the Black Sheep Index?

I found my GGFx2 being indicted for murder in Stepney, 1844 having had a fight with a man who owed him a shilling. Said man died next day. Amazingly GGFx2 got off with 2 months for manslaughter.

Well he isn't in the black sheep index.

That is really interesting Heather, did you find the report in a newspaper?
