	You are welcome Susan. I have quite a few 'unknown' in my tree - I should think most have found there is a birth with no known father. I suppose we will never know who they were! Happy hunting. Elisabeth

	Thanks for replying I have added before without a partner but that was some tome ago.Have to say though that finding a partner for the mother would have been difficult if you get my drift(lol) Thanks again. Susan

	Susan, That is correct. You need to add a partner - as 'unknown' or something, then you can add the child. (There must have been a partner of some sort!) Elisabeth

	Help please I am trying to add an illigitimate birth but can`t for some reason it looks like I have to add a partner for the the mother before the add child will come up. What am I doing wrong?I have added illigitinate children before. Thanks Susan
