Just a thought.

Mother in Law could have been widowed twice.

On the 1891 census I have the Connell family living in Liverpool, Thomas Connell age 26, his wife Mary 24 (nee Clarke) together with three children.
Also included in Bridget Jackson, 53, b abt 1838, rope maker. Widowed and her relation to head of family is Mother in Law.

In the 1881 census I have John Clarke 36, married to Bridget (both born Ireland) with six children, all born Liverpool including Mary.

Has anyone come across a widow reverting back to a maiden name? I am fairly sure Bridget Jackson was married to John Clarke likely around 1865 but cant find it... maybe they married in Ireland.
Any views would be appreciated
