I have found a birth I have been looking for in 1958 in Sheffield vol 2d
The page number was originally 244, but this has been crossed through and 1300/5 handwritten next to it. Why would this be?

Hi

I think it is either the birth has been re registered ie added the fathers name, or they were adopted, you could ring the gro & ask them.

Just tried to phone GRO and received a recorded message to say that because they are so busy, calls are automatically being disconnected. Very helpful I'm sure!
