Family Search (Latter Day Saints) website.

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp

Why?

Because I've found 3 of my Irish Gran's siblings on the IGI records (didn’t know she had any at the time) and was able to order the certificates from IRELAND.

N.B…….Civil Birth Registrations for all of IRELAND being added...gradually....
………….so well worth checking it out on a regular basis.

Lots of Christening/Birth records for:
England
Scotland
Wales
Ireland
Isle of Man
The Channel Islands.

Plus some other Countries.

1881 BRITISH CENSUS: (Cannot view the original hand written document)
England
Wales
Isle of Man
The Channel Islands
British Isles-Misc.

1880 USA CENSUS

1881 CANADA CENSUS

ancestry.co.uk - census, bmd all in one place (up to 2005)
freebmd.org.uk - essential when ordering certificates
bmdshare.com - share site for people that own certificates and want to share the information
http://photoexchange.ourgenealogy.co.uk/pe/index - people that are happy to take photos in their local area for you of buildings / places etc etc

(To name a very small few)

Hi

The best site to join for census 1841 - 1901 & birth marriage death references & much more is ancestry.co.uk its around £80 a year but you can pay monthly, you can try it for a 2 week trial, i've been with them for over 10 years & its invaluable
