OK then,

Father was born 15/10/1918

15 Osborne Street, Belfast

His father = SAMUEL IRVINE
His mother = SARAH MCLARNON

There you are, you're as wise as me
I hope you can help.

Chrisa,

Thank you for that reply. I know my fathers date of birth, I know where he was born; I know the names of his mother and father.(my grandparents)

But there it stops. I have'nt their marriage liscence or birth certificates. I only have their names and a specific date and an address.
I would have thought that was a good starting point. I'd like to know a lot about them, their parents etc.

Surely there is a way?

Hi David.

If you know the names of both his parents you need to find their birth certs. Then you will have the names of both their parents.

If you don't know enough about when they were born to find their certs start with their marriage cert then you will maybe get their ages at marriage & fathers names if they knew them.

I can't help you search unfortunately, I'm hopeless with Irish records.

Good luck.
