Please could people only use one board for each request for help!!
It is absolutely maddenning to find that your hard work has been duplicated on other boards!!

Here, here to that, I've mentioned the same thing myself in the past. Also why do people use the Tips board to ask for look ups, Trying to Find is the correct board to use.

You are so right, Ron!
The boards have titles indicating what they should be used for!

Doubt anything will change though!

Actually, Ron, the Trying to Find board used to be for living people and the Records Board for lookups. This was back in the days when the TTF wasn't threaded, ie contact was made by PM, which of course it should be if giving info on living people.

Agree though that duplicate threads are a pain!

Yes, Potty
I understand that the system used to be different.
But these are newbies - not reading the guidelines.

I only look at the tips board anyway because I don't have the time to surf the rest.
Occasionaly I post a question or take the time to answer one, if the heading looks interesting enough. If it says look-up it gets ignored as do any with the words census, BMDs or tree bandits and those with obvious spelling mistakes.
I do sometimes have a look at the questions that no-one has been able to answer but again I am very selective and I never look beyond the first page.
But of course that is my perogative and somewhere in there you should find a way of attracting my attention and the attention of others, which is surely why you posted in the first place.

I always thought trying to find was for the living so I never looked on there till recently. Only took me 2 years to discover it wasn't lol
