If you upload any gedcom to GR it will replace your existing GR tree.

You can open a gedcom in any family history program and keep it as a separate file from your original tree as family history programs are capable of having more than one file at a time, your GR tree does not, you only get one tree on GR.

Hello,

Can anyone shed any light on Gedcom files for me?

I'm sure this is very simple, but for the life of me, i'm not sure I understand. If I were to import part of someone's tree that they have sent me (to have a look at). Would this wipe out my tree on GR. I would be grateful for any advice. I have looked at previous posts, but I think i'm being a bit thick.

Thanks for reading.
