I think you may be right there tx linda any idea what the mc is for or the word in the 4th row down in the road/street column. Looks like something terrace ?

Could it be something like Vitriol Burner....perhaps to do with chemicals as there are a few chemical factory workers in the road.

Can someone help me read my great grandfathers occupation.

1891 census, Sam Harvey age 42 in Waveney Rd Ipswich.

He's a something burner (factory) and has another mark written on it like "mc" or something similar.
Unfortunately it has a clerks check mark through the word so its hard to read. If it helps there is another entry with the same job on the following sheet. He is William Finbow age 60.

Please help its driving me mad !
