Many thanks for the link Sue...that is brilliant.

My dad was a glove cutter and although in full time employment (poor pay) he supplemented his income by also taking work in at home.

I have memories of parcels of skins arriving at home and dad would spend hours in the evenings stretching the leather over the side of the table until the leather was supple enough to start cutting the gloves!!
