Can anyone tell me what a music-smith was?

I am guessing either a composer or performing musician.

the same ancestor was listed as a brass worker 10 yrs earlier in 1841. I have even wondered if this related to brass instruments??

had a look on wikepedia and its not there, but a blacksmith is someone who manufactures from steel, so a music-smith could be someone who manufactures musical instruments? will keep looking though.
