During the mid 1800's it was quite fashionable to give children Old Testament names.

Hi, Just wondering whether any of you have come across the surname Blunsdon in your family tree? I am struggling to understand the reasoning behind an ancestor of mine giving their children Hebrew names when the father was certainly not of Hebrew/Jewish descent. The children were called Zipporah, Zerah, Enoch, Nahum and Huldah. I am now wondering whether the mother's maiden name 'Blunsdon' had any Jewish connections. Would love to know if any of you have come across any of these names and/or know anything about their origin? Many thanks. Nicky
