Unknown has responded to a thread which is 4 years old.

I have sent guidelines on how to find it again. Cx

Kim - re uploading to Keepsafe.

There is a link 'Upload to Keepsafe' from the drop down menu on this page from the word Keepsafe.

Just click the 'browse' button in the next window and select the appropriate picture.

You can do exactly the same from the 'Keepsafe' page - there's a big blue/green box on the left with a + sign and the words 'Upload to Keepsafe'

Once its loaded, scroll down the page until you see the words on the right 'attach to relation'. Type the person's name and select the correct one which appears (you may have eg several John Smith's in your tree). Remember to save.

Have a read of Phil Moir's Blog "New Feature Focus - Keepsafe and Relative Profiles"

I have not been on here for a while and found the site very different and difficult to navigate opposed to before. The new keepsafe for starters, how do we add more picture's from pc to the site.
It'll probably take me a while to work out the changes, although I'm not sure if it suites me as is any more.
Saying that, in the past I have found many living relations and about to reunite with lost family next week end. We're all a lot older almost 50 years older but I'm so looking forward to meeting them again. :-D

See sections 5 & 6 of the T&Cs for what Gold members can do. Gold membership is only available to existing Gold members.

Have I missed changes introduced for Gold Members? I have been able to search the Census up until 1901, now I can't search any, neither can I see lists of trees that have matches. All I can now do is amend my own records by typing in information I have found out elsewhere, rather than us GR as my search engine. And yes, my subscriptions are being taken from my bank account.

The general opinion is that the records available through GR even with Gold membership are more expensive.

The cost of Gold membership works out more per annum than an Ancestry sub and from what i can gather GR use a weird and wonderful system anyway, there are several threads where folks cannot find a record via the GR system that is on freebmd etc.

re Parish Records.

Not all PR's are online, as time goes on more and more are being put online, many are transcribed onto local OPC (online parish clerk) sites, Freereg (same idea as freebmd) and local county type sites as well as the IGI.

If you need details from one particular area then you would be better paying to join the local Family History Society for the area of interest, annual membership varies but is usually around £10-£15 and they often have local records archived in their own library of research material.

Is Gold membership all inclusive.
Does it give you full credit free access?
Is it as good as the others ie Ancestry Genealogy and other providers.
Dave
Ps Do I need parish records which some charge extra for or shall I leave it until I get deeper into this game..
