This is odd as well. Here is an Isabella Jones in 1901 but married to a Thomas. Same area. Funnily enough, there is a Clara and a Mable (Mabel?). I wonder whether the Mable is the previous Maud as the ages tie up?

Pamela, they certainly seem to have vanished into thin air!
I found both his marriages and the death of Emma. He didn't waste time as Emma died 1Q 1883 and he married in 4Q 1883 to Isabella.
Will keep looking but not found on any census yet

Help . Can any one help to find my grandfather Richard Hassall. He was born in Shifnal Albrighton Salop, goes through Wales. He is known to have married in Birmingham,to emma freeman, she died in 1883, he then married a widower isabell Jones, They had children the last was as far as i know Clara Hassall b 1893, in solihull Greet which became warickshire, he was known to have lived in Station rd Aston which is put in the family bible, He had a daughter older than Clara called Mable, who was taken into the household of people called Judge, and his wife Henrietta, they had a daughter of their own and Mable is shown as a Niece to the little girl. That is all i know about Richard Hassalls 2nd family after Clara was born, She married in Selly Oak Birmingham and later emigrated and died abroad. So what has happened to Richard and his wife isabell she was born either 1853 or 56. Richard was born 1847, he had another brother Thomas Hassall, they were both from unwed Ann Hassall. She later wed a Thomas Cox and for a time Richard called himself Cox and when he wed his first wife he had reverted back to Hassall, living at 54 Crab Tree rd Aston , and was there when his 1st wife died. they were both brass casters, from which his wife caught a desease and died. Thanks to any one who can find him. Pamela.
