Just to let you know that there is a programme every wednesday (13.30) on Radio 4 called tracing your roots. It covers lots of different queries from listeners and is superior to WDYTYA. This week the programme focused on Irish ancestry, last week military records and prior to that Jewish ancestry. Take a look at the webpage on the BBC. The programme is available on listen again and also podcast.

hi janet this is the link to the web site and you can hear all the back programmes on your computer. i trawled through the back dates and found a great site for trials at the old bailey
heres hoping it helps someone out there

They also recently had a 2 part program on the history of Gypsies - I only caught bits of them but was very interesting. Might still be possible to find it on the web site.
