Thank you Pam and margaret - very much appreciated. I think I will order one in the morning.

Do the certificates take long to arrive normally?

There's no birth or death of a baby but then, if it was stillborn there wouldn't be.

My gt. grandmother Charlotte was known as Lottie. There's a death of Lottie E. Plowman, Dec. quarter 1921, Reigate, age 38. (2a 238).
Why not order her death certificate to find cause of death?

Evening all,

My partners g.gran Charlotte Eliza Sexton b.1883 Surrey d.1921 Reigate is a mystery.

We were told by family that she died of a broken heart aged 30.

Her husband Percival/Percy R Plowman b.1879 died 6 months prior to her own death.

The family rumour is that she gave birth to a stillborn child after her husband had died which she named percy and then she committed suicide by throwing herself in front of a train.

Is there anyway that I could verify this old family story? Is this the kind of thing that may have been in the newspaper?

Would love to hear any tips.
