If it's noted as a submitted record, Kristine, it means somebody added it to the site rather than it being copied directly from the parish records to the website so it may not be 100% accurate. An "extracted" record would be one that is copied directly.

Sometimes people add totally accurate information, other times it is guesswork.

Who is IGI? And why do you think it should be treated with caution?

That looks like it matches what i had but this time Thorndyke is spelt differently!

I am trying to find a marraige between George Lawrence and Harriet (whose maiden name i don't know) ?

George was born in Denham and Harriet was born in Eye. In the 1901 census they are recorded as living in Denham so i have limited my search to Suffolk.

George was born 1871 and Harriet was born 1875 or 1876 (from 1901 census) so i have looked for dates after about 1893

The only record which seems to fit is one for Harriett Thorndyke and George in 1897 Hartismere. However in the 1901 census and on a memorial for thier son HarrieTT is spelt HarrieT.

This makes me think this isn't the right record but i can't find any others which fit. It is it quite common for records like this to have slight misspellings or is it more likely that they weren't married?
